Alert! Alert! Everyone is falling sick!

Can feel my sinusitis is back.

With sore throat in the making.

Damn.

Not only me.

Ben's nose is dripping like a leaking tap and gerald looks half dead.

Random coughing could be heard in class.

Probably these are stressed induced, by the coming medical tests that are scheduled next week.
And to think we have to go back for lecture on respiratory emergencies on a sat morning (tomorrow) makes me super low morale.

Sigh.

*cough* *cough*

A day in the life of a diabetic casualty.

One of the perks of the course is that you get to role play.

Either you are the crew leader (being assessed), the buddy (paramedic assistant), the "abang"(ambulance driver) or the casualty.

And for Uncle Raymond's call today, Its my turn to be the casualty.
Nothing really special but it is good to be the casualty today as today's lesson is the Unconcious (Nót.Yet.Diagnosed) protocol.

Which means i have to act totally unconcious till intervention is done.

In other words, i get to sleep during lesson.

Teeheeheeheeheee....How cool is that.*sniggers*

But when Mr Bravo tell me the clinical presentation of the casualty.....

Mr Bravo: You'll act unconcious with some snoring,(as tongue falls back), attempted airway guerdal but you'll gag, snoring only stops till the SSLP position is attempted.
San-d: Ok. What other medical history do i have?
MrBravo: You are a diabetic for 10 yrs, on insulin jab, took jab this morning, rushing to work, forgot to take breakfast hence hypoglycemic. He will administer diabetic protocol and when i kick your feet, you will slowly regain consiousness.
San-d: Roger.

This is a relatively simple case and just as long uncle raymond turns me to the SSLP position, i can go into my lala land.

Case Starts:

Uncle Raymond: Approach casualty, hello i am the medic and this is my buddy, if you can hear me, please do not move your head...............blah blah blah.....
San-d: *eyes closed,snoring*

Uncle Raymond then carry on his assessment and when he attempted to insert airway guerdal into my mouth, i pretended to gag.

Uncle Raymond: Casualty refused guerdal, will attempt later.
San-d: *thinking* huh, what the fark? SSLP??? SSLP???!!!

He then carries on his other assessment and i just kept on snoring and snoring.

Ben (his buddy) knew why i was snoring so much (and very loud too) purposely asked uncle raymond....

Ben: Buddy! Why casualty snore so loud?
Uncle Raymond: Ya! Dunno ley, why she snore until like that
San-d: *thinking* Wtf???? *faintz*

I sneaked a peek to ben and ben was shocked too. He had this don't know to laugh or not to laugh look on his face.

At the positioning stage, uncle raymond decided to turn me to SSLP position.

FINALLY!!! i can stop snoring. Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep on pretending to snore and snore and snore (and it sounds like pig snorting) for about 5 mins?

After positioning is the decision point.

Uncle Raymond: Buddy, what is the Hypocount (blood gulcose level) reading?
Ben: 3 mmol/l
Uncle Raymond: Hmmmmm.... Casualty have a hypocount of 3 and her factory manager says she is a diabetic.....*wonders for a while then decided* This is a case of HYPERglycemia and i will load and go.

Ben and i nearly fainted.

Sometimes, when Uncle Raymond is "kan cheong" (excited), he tends to mix up his protocols.

In this case, Patient is HYPOglycemic as normal people's blood glucose level ranges from 4-8 mmol/l. Casualty's hypocount is 3, hence low blood sugar level. The treatment should be stay and give glucose. However he choose to go.

It is ok to make mistakes coz as you err like this, it will be ethched into your memory so vividly that you not forget.

Ben almost fainted coz uncle raymond forgot his protocol, i almost fainted coz.........

They had to turn me from SSLP(lying on my side) to supine (lying on my back) onto the maincot.

Hence......

San-d: *snores.....snores........snores.....*

Other people become causualty gets to sleep, i get to snore.

Hahahahahahhahahaha

I was so pissed that i purposely snored VERY loudly to get Uncle raymond's attention to turn me over to SSLP or attempts an airway guerdal on me (again).

Just then Mr Bravo came over and whispered to me.

Mr Bravo: You can act unconcious now.

*phew*

Finally can stop my pig-snorting sound a like snoring attempt. I think i snored for about 15 mins at least!

Just when i thought i can go into my lala land....

Mr Bravo: Ok, you reach hospital already.
Uncle Raymond: Now i will report to staff nurse.....blah....blah....
San-d:Agggrrrrhhhh!!!!

End of call.

Really not my day.

Protocols are a pain in my A*se!

Don't know what had gotten into me.
Probably i was distracted by my potter book. And it is a buggeration to me as i aimed to finish the book fast so that i can carry on with whatever i was supposed to do.

But today i was super no mood to practise.

Presented the CCF protocol.

Then did the CCF practice.

I thought i should be ok. But in the end, i failed the call.

It is a big time sucky farky feeling and i feel like slapping myself.

During the breathing stage, i already knew that patient's breathing is laboured, yet i didn't bag the farker.

Some where back in my head tell me to bag him. But i decided that if he can talk to me a bit, he should be able to endure.

That is one critical.

What the fark was i thinking man! It is not as if i haven't encounter SOB before? Countless time man. And i should know better than better not ask so much questions. Already can't breathe, how to talk.

Sigh.

Critical No 2: I forgot to ask for allergies.

*slap myself hard across my face*

In my life, i do protocols, this is the 1st time i miss allergies. To make matters worse, i still went on to give him the GTN when obviously he is having SOB. He is allergic to aspirin. Lucky this is not chest pain protocol. If not.....

*slap myself hard across my face again*

Agghhhhrrr!!!!! FArked Up ARHHHHH!!!!

Why am i so kiasu, want to give GTN and bag at the same time when it is obviously not possible. Farker already SOB, i still want him to place the GTN under his tongue? And farker still coughing out pinkish, yellowish frothy sputum.

Geezzzz.....

Lastly, to end this farky call, i was so preoccupied with history taking, i forgot that i can ask buddy to take Vital signs concurrently. Thus causing a slight delay in deciding to administer protocol

*slap myself hard across my face many many times*

-________- *swollen face*

You can bet i will not forgot CCF protocol after this disasterous call.

And i hate it when Mr bravo thinks that our group is farked up. I know that we are kinda not upto his expectations but the way he looks and talk to us, makes me feel like we are bound to fail. Maybe he's bias against us, after all 2 of my groupmates did fail the trauma protocol.

Maybe i shouldn't kid ourselves, we are kinda farked up.

Hahahahahahaaaaaa.

But i hate it that instead of encouraging us or supervising us ( we are left alone to practice many a times),everytime he come, he'll gives me the feeling of "sigh- have-to-take-this-bunch-of-losers-for-practicals" kinda feeling.

But today,Mr bravo feels kinda bad and ask me why am i look so down, he thought i was affected by the stuff he said about us.

san-d: nah, i was just preoccupied with harry thats all.

You should see the look on his face.

Mr bravo: I see, coz some people cannot take it when i say them.
San-d: Nah, no worries, you never work in my dept before, this is nothing.

Don't know what made me say that but i know that i am in deep shit for saying that. Coz i think he will 'mark' me from that on.

Hahahahhahahaha.

Bring it on!

That day at TCC.

I finally found my Memory stick's adapter and can upload the photos in my almost exploding Memory stick.

Searched the house high and low. Was wondering did R4 threw away the borders carrier that i used to store my stuff.

At a last and desprate attempt, i finally found it in my yellow room.

*phew*

These are the funny moments captured at TCC last sat after watching Sin City.

Magical Weekend.

After the long wait, the 6th Harry Potter book is out.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Saw the news and people all round the world were anticipating the launch of the book. When it is finally launched, the people were so excited that they couldn't wait to get their hands on the book and also to go home to read!!

There are also people who dressed up as their favorite Harry potter characters, some stores also had promotional events going on.

Wanted to preorder but felt that there is no need to rush. Preordered the last book but when i went to collect, there were tons and tons of the book.

And i was right. Went to Kinokuniya and there were tons and tons and rows and rows of the book.

Choose the "perfect" book, one without any bends, ceases, finger print marks and proceed to the cashier. When it is nearing my turn to pay, i dropped the book on the floor.

Aggrrrhhhh!!!!!!!

I couldn't go choose a new book as the queue to pay is very long. Not to mention the people who saw me dropped the book. *Paisay*

Whipped out my mobile and sos R4 for help.

He randomly grabbed one of the shelf and i managed to swop book before i pay.

But when i looked at the book after paying, i realise that it is not as perfect as the one i chose before i dropped it.

This is murphy's law. Anything can go wrong will go wrong.

Sigh.

Got a 10% discount but not as much as some of my friends who preordered and got a $10 discount.

Oh well.

Gotta do revisions for my Level3 but the temptation from the harry potter book is tooooooo much.

Time to hit the book. I meant the Harry one.

Studying makes you stupid or wat?

Currently on my Paramedic Lvl 3 course.

Culture shock.

Maybe its been a while since the last course (4 years to be exact), i find it that i've lost touch.

Just can't remember the protocols. Not to mention the A&P. Its like deja vu. It seems like you know, but when the questions are posed to ya, ya mind goes..... zero.

Trauma cases. I think i am expriencing Trauma to my brain cells.

Agghhh.

And its only been 3 days. 3 FREAKING days.

It seems so long.......

Not to mention that i can't play my A3 game, since most of the time, i came home, i need to do revision , read up and prepare for next day's lesson. And after that i feel so zonked, i just wanna sleep.

How to endure?

Can't wait for weekend to come.

The fun stuff we do.

Recently, Lim KL got hooked on the blading bug.

Been asking everyone to blade.

I always liked to blade just that i sold my blades the other time to buy the NIKE blades that i liked so much ( which in the end i didn't buy) .

After 2 weeks of searching, i finally got my blades. Not nike, but roces. I couldn't find my nike blades anywhere, so i bought roces. (fate has it that after i buy roces, i saw the nike blades - thats a diff story altogether)

Finally we can go blading! Yeah!

So we went blading on a tues evening. Lesser people, night sea breeze. Cool!

Asked Princess Kelene of fernvale lane (heheheheheh private joke) to come along and she surprised me by being totally gamed for it!

San-d: So see ya at the ECP Mac.
Princess: What to wear?
San-d: Something comfortable? Like bermmies and tees?
Princess: Oh.... i thought wear bikini top and shorts?
San-d: *faintz* Also can but now got no sun la.

hahahahhahahahahaha

And i forgot she can't blade.

But we had a fun time nontheless.

She came and she decided to buy a new pair of blades.

Princess: The rented ones are so yicky!!!!
*R4 looks at his feet, he is wearing rented ones*

Hahahahhahahahahaha

Thats so cool! Thats totally Princess behavior .

Then came the challenging part.

A3 Addiction.

Supposed to study but had been procrastinating. Did study a bit but the stuff are so so so so so BORING!!! The moment i open the book..... i wanna......

PLAY GAME!!!!!!

Hahahahahahahahahahaha

Been addicted to this MMORPG game called A3. Thanks to R4.

<>

R4: Hey, the A3 is out
San-d: Oh, finally.

*note: R4 had been waiting for this online game to be on SG server for ages*

R4: Feel like buying.
San-d: Buy la *cannot decide to buy Bleach or Full Metal alcehmist comic*
R4: Hmmmm....*fiddling with the package*
San-d: Ok la, i also buy, we play together.
R4: *glint in eye* Really??
San-d: Yah. *finally decides to buy both comics*

So in the end, bought the game (and the comics).

R4 bought the limited edition package that comes with the 10 free spin and i bought the normal starter pack with 5 free spin. Rationale being that in case i don't wanna play, i won't feel the pitch.

Don't wanna play?

Now i'm hooked.

And the fact that level 3 starts next week means that i am going to have a hard time resisting to play the game and to force myself to study.

Die die die.... die like a butterfly.
