My name is Wheelie.
We've been planning to go for this event since March i think.
The Runway Cycling thingy (we'll be blading instead.)
And we've been practising.
Rollerblading. :P
To see us zooming up and down at East Coast Park on weekday nights were a norm.
30km Runway Endurance Challenge?
Seems ok to us.
After all we are blading almost 20km everytime.
But ...
We forgot the 2 main differences between ECP and PLAB's Runway are :
1. There is no shade !
2. We blade at night most of the time and hence no need to worry about sun burn!!
Arghhhhh!!!!
Silly me is an advocate for sunscreen and prevention of sunburns as i personally witness horrible sunburns (3rd degree burns of blisters as big as ur palms) and i will always always wear sunblock when under the sun doing physical activites.
But sad to say that i am not a morning person.
And to go to PLAB early morning (to avoid jams and to register) makes me scattered brain.
I FORGOT MY SUNBLOCK!!!
Almost went crazy but what done cannot be undone and to quote smellycat: Too bad la. Suck it up. Kwa kwa kwa.
Vio: >.<
All waiting to start. Check out the cyclists! Really a lot!
Kebeen : Smellycat: Vio : (and the extra at the back)
I am really melting.
And going crazy of not having a single drop of sunblock on me!
Kebeen (again) : Scott : Vio (trying to hide from the sun!)
Scott trying out a Candid Pose.
He couldn't get enough of it.
I am awed by his bravery of doing the same candid pose till kebeen got a good shot of him :P Ha!
Its a wonder how Scott managed to snap a shot of his blades while travelling at high speed.
Not only did we see bicycles and rollerblades, there are people riding the unicycle! ONE WHEEL! And doing the 45km endurance challenge! *salute*
Nice Shot from Scott. Thats Kebeen in white by the way.
Kebeen, Scott and i completed the 30km in about 2 hours whereas Smellycat finishes at 1 hr 45mins ( i think).
Halfway thru, my knee start to act up and i was whining to Scott telling him to slap me if i mention about coming about this again next year. Ha!
And Scott being Mr Nice Guy stopped and help a damsel in distress ( something wrong with her bicycle) hence we were slightly delayed in coming back.
Happy Faces! Mission Completion!
Trying to look Happy (but not coz old knee injury acting up. Pain ++)
It was nevertheless a fun experience but funny thing is... we never mention about going blading eversince and its been almost 1 week! Ha! :P
