A Wild Rose by any other name...

Should be called Perry. She rawks the performance!

Went to catch Wild Wild Rose today and was wowed (!!) !

I was being transported back to the 60s times of Cabaret and Cha Cha.

Perry dazzles as Wild Rose Si Jia (She sings all the songs! NOT lip synching! )and Thomas is Good as the gentlemanly piano teacher Hanhua despite his last experience in theatre was about 10 years ago.

The only thing that some bothers some people is that the some of the cast speaks in cantonese accented Mandarin.

I guess coz these people don't know that the some of Cast from Hongkong couldn't even speak Mandarin very well and they had a month crash course training to perfect their Mandarin.

I really think that they are really good! I mean in the midst of finishing the cantonese version and picking up and remembering the Mandarin Version is no easy feat.

Guess it is hard to please everyone . :P

So so so so proud of my Garlic!!
Can say that he really did a great job directing and that Silly Garlic is so sweet coz he thank MummyHelen for introducing him to 葛蘭/Grace Chang/Ge Lan's Songs hence the chance for him to explore in this genre now. (But he forgot to Thank me for being his No 1 Fan when he was Jajamaboing at home when we were young!!Ha!! )

Guess being the Director's sister has its perks. Not only i get free tickets from him, i also get insightful conversations regarding the production of the show, the cast and also how much effort he puts into this production.

Just like how on top of the 5-6 songs that is in the original movie ,he took some of other Ge Lan's Songs from her other movies or album and incorparated it into the current musical .

Almost everyone left there with a smile on their face and the i overheard that some of the people are actually 2nd timers that came last night too! Ha!!

I dunno why but i just felt an unexplained happiness for Garlic and i guess everyone should just go and watch and be immersed in the 60s world of Cabaret!
