Jettin' ard Ramblings.

After this post i am so going to zzzzz.

But first, i wanna rant.

The misconceptions that ppl have when i tell them i am travelling for work, usually are:

1. Wow! So good arh! Can go *insert touristy activity* !
2. Can help me buy * insert item*?
3. You must be Lao Jiao (old bird- literally/ seasoned pro)
4. Good wat, can get extra allowance.

Hmmmm.....

Sorry to burst the bubbles guys. It is infact not what you guys get to think it is.

I don't get an allowance but the airfare/meals/hotel stay are paid for.

It is not a free holiday coz i'm going for work! You may argue that after workhours can go R&R party etc but the sad truth is that usually i am holed up in the hotel room, checking/replying mails and getting ready for next day's agenda. There are light days of coz and during those times i get to do a bit of shopping and R&R but that dun happen all the time.

I am not an old bird to the countries i've been too coz a lot of times it is touch and go.
Touch and Go = Airport -> work -> hotel-> work-> airport.
Day trips touch and go = Airport -> work -> airport.
So actually i am more familar with the airports. Ha!

This is not SAF trips so there is no extra allowances. My job scope is to cover the Asean region so this is part of my job.

Shall not comment about the countries i've been too but its not all toursity. Afterall, i'm working in the healthcare industry and i've seen more hospital/clinics setup in these regions rather then the touristy spots.

I've caught the "movie up in the air"on one of my flights. I've learnt a tip or 2 from George Clooney and its really useful! Ha! And secretly i am like him, wondering when can i hit the next tier of my krisflyer (which unfortunately the miles is not a lot coz i am covering asean Ha! =p).

I am now in Vietnam but i didn't get to try the famous viet coffee. I bought one lemon tart and a chocolate cake from the hotel bakery (coz the look so good! )and had Room Service Pho Beef noodles ( since JT tell me that i need to try Pho) .

But FML coz i forgot to bring my specky for this trip ( i'm blind as a bat) and I've also learned something from this trip.

Mental note to self: Out of the country in Asean, Vietnam is one of those that had Facebook banned!!

Arghhhhhhhh!!!! * tears hair*

I never knew how dependent i am on facebook till today in Vietnam when i couldn't access to it. When it was not loading, a voice in me goes: oh no, dun tell me this is just like china (china is one of the countries that banned FB) so i went to google and viola! I am right!

i like to leave fb page on when i am in the hotel coz i feel less lonely i guess.
Its like the new msn. When i am tired, bored, simply needed a break from work, i just switch to the page and talk to friends on chat, play pet society a while, poke my cyber nose into ppl's updates and give my 2 cents worth of comments.... that little distraction is kinda rejuventing really.

Anyway, those on my twitter today can hear me whining on twitter since i have no fb access. Ha!
And i think i really need to go to bed... early day tomorrow....

Meow~~
