Byebye 2008.

Time really flies.
2008 really come and goes.

A lot of things happened.

Fun things such as Mini v Moments, going to many concerts (Jay!! Fahrenheit!!), going Batam with Smellycat, having great time with pals etcetc.

Don't really wanna think of sad moments but one sad moment is enough to kill a certain part of my heart- the day my Airle decides go to on a trip. Sigh.

Hopefully everything will be well and smooth sailing to 2009. Not to mention that i will be the BIG 3-0 this coming year.

*gulp*

Anyway GaRlic is back in town for his new production this new year.

Starting the New Year with a big bang, MediaCorp VizPro and Hong Kong Spring-Time Stage Productions will be bringing to you, Wild Wild Rose The Musical.
Produced by Perry Chiu Experimental Theatre, this is a must-watch musical at the Victoria Theatre from 1-4 January 2009.

Dont miss one of the glitziest cabaret affairs of the year live on stage!

Wild Wild Rose The Musical was adapted from the classic black and white movie(《野玫瑰之恋》) of the same name produced in 1960 by Cathay , in turn adapted from Bizet's opera "Carmen".
Directed by Wang Tian Ling, the movie is a tale of seduction, love and betrayal between a sensuous singer and mediocre musician was considered a daring one in society then.
Winning accolades worldwide, the movie was shortlisted as the best Chinese film of the past century. Staying true to the original plot and featuring widely popular songs from the movie such as《卡門》 (Carmen),《蝴蝶夫人》(Madame Butterfly),《說不出的快活》(Shuo bu chu de kuai huo), this Chinese musical is a colourful extravaganza capturing both the on-stage glamour and catching glimpses of the sorrow behind the nightclub entertainment scene.

Wild Wild Rose The Musical stars Perry Chiu, the veteran Hong Kong theatre actress and Thomas Ong, our very own home grown star in his debut theatre act!

Thomas Ong burst onto the entertainment scene in 1996 with his lead role in Wild Orchids and remains highly popular today. His most recent lead role in the hit success Perfect Cut further underlined his polished acting skills, honed through the years.

Thomas acted in his first musical with Constance Song I have a date with Spring 10 years ago and a decade later, he is taking on the male lead of Wild Wild Rose The Musical and will be charming the audience with his acting skill, dancing moves and even singing!

Perry was nominated twice for the Hong Kong Theatre Awards Best Actress Award with her performances in The Dream of a Young Girl and Butterflies are Free, the famous Broadway production.

Besides her theatre accolades, Perry has also starred in movies, TV drama serials and hosted an entertainment news programme on radio.

Feeling like you need a little something extra this new year? Perhaps something a little more exciting and a little wild?

Wild Wild Rose The Musical promises to transport you back into the 1960s where song and dance ruled the night.
