A Day to Remember.

I remembered that one fine day back in '03 Stan the Man while sitting opposite me in our tiny office told me that he got bitten by the photography bug.

A good hobby ,i reckon and also a useful skill.

The only photography i am into are Lomos but nontheless we had spend many great afternoons talking (instead of working ~ Ha Ha ) about photography, my lomos, his SLR (not yet up grade to digital SLR yet that time- not so pro. ha!).

One fine day he came to the office excitedly and showed me birthday pics of June's Nephew's birthday.

As i looked thru the pics, i realised one thing.

Stan's pictures tell stories.

The feeling i had looking thru the pictures was as though i have been to the party itself. He picks up details that people tend to overlook. Like the magnets on the fridge in the kitchen. Like the birthday boy happily playing with balloons, the glint in his eyes. Like the mom doing the preparation.

Its really cool.

I went for his graduation exhibit for his photography course at objectifs and i really feel that he is meant to take photos.

Actually anyone can take photos. Even mini v know how to take photos.

But to take a photo which tells a story is something not everyone can do it.

Stan doesn't wanna be just stan the photographer.
He wanna be a photojournalist.

And i also seen him as such.

He was featured as one of the photographers for The Affordable Photo Fair .
As extracted from the webby:

Stanley Cheong.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Stanley discovered photography and its use for self-expression in 2003.
With strong interests in both art and documentary photography, he believes it to be a powerful medium that is able to converse with viewers of what he sees at the point in time a photograph is taken.
He has exhibited as a group at the Arts House and is currently doing his undergraduate studies in Communications.

Especially nowadays he dabbles in telling stories of love thru his photos.

I guess friends can see his special way of storytelling that thru word of mouth he got engaged a couple of times to take wedding photos.

So much so that he decided to set up a webby.

Check out A Day to Remember .
